Dr. Asim Hussain
Chairman & Trustee
Dr. Asim Hussain, SI, NI, born on 28th November 1953, is the son of Dr. Aijaz Fatima and Dr. Tajammul Hussain, the founding trustees of Dr. Ziauddin Hospitals. He is a prominent figure in the fields of healthcare, education, and philanthropy. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Dr. Ziauddin Hospitals in Karachi and the Chancellor of Ziauddin University, Karachi.
Dr. Asim Hussain received his early education at Karachi Grammar School and later attended Cadet College, Petaro. He graduated with an MBBS degree from Dow Medical College (now Dow University of Health Sciences) in 1978. After serving as a Captain in the Pakistan Army, Dr. Hussain continued his education in Europe. He became a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in 1981 and furthered his studies in Vienna, Austria, where he earned his D. Ortho degree in 1983. Upon his return to Pakistan, he served as an Assistant Professor and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Civil Hospital, Karachi. He did MS Surgery from Ziauddin University in 2008.
In 1995, Dr. Hussain established Ziauddin University, which was chartered through an Act passed by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. In recognition of his significant contributions to the nation in education and healthcare, Dr. Hussain has been honored with the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
Dr. Ammad Hussain

Dr. Ammad completed his A levels from a leading school of Karachi in 2003, and proceeded to pursue his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Birmingham, UK and graduated in 2008. He trained in multiple hospitals in UK including Addenbrooke’s University Hospital in Cambridge. He passed his FRCR in 2014 and completed his Radiology training in Kings College Hospital, London, in 20018. He further undertook fellowship in Interventional Radiology from Berth Health NHS Trust, London, UK which was completed in 2019, where he also subsequently worked as a full-time consultant for 3 years. He currently is working as a part time consultant diagnostic and interventional radiologist in the NHS England and also at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital Group.
Under his leadership, Dr. Ziauddin Hospital has expanded its medical services, enhanced patient care, and integrated cutting-edge medical technologies to maintain its reputation as a leading healthcare provider in Pakistan. His deep understanding of global healthcare systems, gained from years of working in the UK’s NHS, has allowed him to implement modern medical practices, operational efficiencies, and advanced radiology techniques at the hospital.
As Trustee and Chief Executive of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital Group, Dr. Ammad Hussain has brought his global expertise in strategy and healthcare management to drive innovation and growth. His leadership has enhanced patient care, advanced medical technology, and operational efficiency, ensuring Dr. Ziauddin Hospital leadership in healthcare excellence.
Dr. Nida Hussain

Dr. Nida Hussain belongs to a family of brilliant inspirational individuals. This includes her great grandfather Sir Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad who helped educate Muslims of the subcontinent, her grandmother Dr. Aijaz Fatima and grandfather Dr. Tajammul Hussain who laid the foundation of the first Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, and her father Dr. Asim Hussain who is responsible for further endorsing the message of high-quality healthcare and education through numerous projects and ventures.
Dr. Nida Hussain is a motivational woman who is the perfect example of how a drive to make a difference can aid one in achieving heights of greatness. She also has a MBBS from DOW University and Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine degree from Mount Sinai, New York, USA.
She is the Pro-Chancellor of Ziauddin University and the Chairperson of Ziauddin Education System. With a strong commitment to education, she aims to ensure that high-quality education is provided from the primary level to higher education, empowering the youth and shaping the future of this nation.
Dr. Arif Hussain
Trustee
Born in June, 1966, Dr. Arif Hussain is the son of Dr. Aijaz Fatima and Dr. Tajammul Hussain. He is also the grandson of the great Sir Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad, who took it upon himself to serve the Muslims of the subcontinent by raising the educational standards and by promoting literacy amongst the Muslim community.
Carrying forward the mission of Sir Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad to spread education, Dr. Arif Hussain too has dedicated his life to learning and teaching. After completing his MBBS from DOW Medical College. Dr. Arif Hussain did his MSc in Clinical Biochemistry with Molecular Biology from University of Surrey, UK. In 2011, he completed his PhD from the University of Karachi.
Currently he serves as the Director (Lab) /Consultant Pathology at the Dr. Ziauddin Hospital and the Associate Professor (Pathology) Ziauddin University. Dr Arif has also published medical papers to his name and his ambition is to continue to contribute to the development of healthcare research in Pakistan.
Dr. Syed Mohammad Shaiq

Dr. Ziauddin Hospital has several senior doctors that are renowned for their skills and recognized worldwide due to their dedication towards their respected fields. One such respected professional is Dr. Syed Mohammad Shaiq.
Born in January 1954, Dr. Syed Mohammad Shaiq completed his matric from Army Burn Hall School, Abbottabad in 1969. In 1971, he completed his inter from the National College, Karachi and then moved on to Dow Medical College in 1978 for an MBBS degree. However, this was not the end of his educational achievements as Dr. Syed Mohammad Shaiq’s thirst for education led him to pursue his MCPS Anaesthesiology from the College of Physicians of Surgeons, Karachi.
Dr. Syed Mohammad Shaiq joined Dr. Ziauddin Hospital in July, 1979 and is currently a Consultant Anesthesiologist and a Trustee in 2019 of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital Trust.
Anwar Mansoor Khan
Trustee
Mr. Anwar Mansoor Khan born in August 1951 he holds a LLB degree from Pakistan. He has experience spreading for over 45 years. Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan. He has served as a Judge of the High Court from where he resigned and rejoined the Law Practice. He was appointed the Advocate General of Sindh and remained in office for a period of five years. He has also served as the Attorney General for Pakistan. He having an experience of over 4 decades with numerous reported land mark judgments.
Amongst his contribution to law itself, Mr. Anwar has been associated in the drafting of the Companies Ordinance 1984, the establishment of the Islamic Banking Systems in Pakistan, in drawing up various documentation of the Banking System, the establishment of Lease financing in Pakistan, drafting of the Recovery Laws for Banks.
His expertise in corporate and litigation spreads over a wide spectrum, such as, banking laws, commercial and civil laws, leasing Laws, taxation Laws, matters relating to Mercantile Laws, Constitutional issue, Taxation, Competition laws, Medical Jurisprudence, Legal Education, Alternate Dispute Resolution, and a host of other allied subjects.
Mr. Anwar Mansoor Khan joined in April, 2016 as a Trustee of Dr. Ziauddin Hospital Trust.

Osama Ahmad
Managing Director
Mr. Osama Ahmad is the Managing Director at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, bringing over twenty five years of financial and operational leadership experience across diverse industries, including Health Care, Education, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Real Estate Development Sector. He is a business strategist who worked closely with executive leaders to create value for the organization and its stakeholders.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Osama has a strong foundation in business development & expansion, operational & financial planning, strategy building, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. He has acumen in risk management, IT, procurement, engineering and overall business performance reviews. He focuses on technological advancement, transparency & quality, and considers it instrumental for adherence with the in fast pace changing scenarios as well as ensuring the hospital’s patient care, market relevance, sustainability and growth.
Prior to joining Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, Mr. Osama held key leadership roles, including serving as Director Finance, Group CFO & Company Secretary, Group Head Audit in both public and private sector institutions.
Dr. Ashar Ekhlaq Ahmed
Medical Director
Dr. Ashar Ekhlaq Ahmed FRCP, is an accomplished medical leader and consultant, currently serving as the Medical Director of Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals. In this strategic leadership role, he is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s clinical operations, providing medical guidance, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Before his tenure at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, Dr. Ahmed held the position of Clinical Director of Medicine and Consultant Rheumatologist at Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust UK, where he played a pivotal role in leading the medical team, optimizing clinical practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in a dynamic and challenging environment.
In addition to his management roles, Dr. Ahmed is a highly skilled Consultant Rheumatologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. approach.
Dr. Ahmed also serves as the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education (Clinical) at Ziauddin University, where he leads the development and enhancement of postgraduate medical training. In this role, he is committed to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals by ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and fostering an environment that emphasizes clinical excellence.
Dr Ahmed is a member of several professional societies, including Executive Committee of Pakistan Society of Rheumatologists, British Rheumatology Society and member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, UK.
Samina Naushin

Ms. Samina Naushin is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Head Office & Group Head of Human Resources at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in organizational leadership, strategic HR management, and operational excellence.
A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Ms. Naushin holds a Master’s in Business Administration and has played an instrumental role in shaping the hospital’s workforce strategy, ensuring that human capital remains at the core of the institution’s success.
In her role as COO & Group Head of HR, she leads with a solutions-driven approach, overseeing hospital operations at the head office while also spearheading HR initiatives across the group. Under her leadership, Dr. Ziauddin Hospital has continuously evolved, fostering a high-performance culture, enhancing employee engagement, and implementing policies that uphold the highest industry standards.

Sabina Khalid

Sabina Khalid is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital Clifton Campus, overseeing all operational aspects of the organization. She initially joined Ziauddin as General Manager (GM) HR and Administration, bringing with her a strong background in human resources and leadership.
Sabina Khalid’s career trajectory reflects her ability to drive change and lead large teams effectively. With her graduation background, she took on the critical role of GM HR and Admin, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening the hospital’s HR policies, talent acquisition strategies, and overall administrative functions. Her leadership in HR laid a strong foundation for organizational development, employee engagement, and strategic workforce planning.
