Equipped with a Linear Accelerator, Simulator and Computerized Treatment Planning

The Linear Accelerator, the only one in Sindh, will improve the results of disease control and minimize undesirable side effects. computerized planning system will further optimize the treatment results and reduce complications by accurately focussing on the tumour and achieving precision in radiation doses. the simulator is used for confirmation of the treatment areas prior to initiation of actual treatment.

The unit is seeing a rapid increase in the number of patients treating upto 60 patients per day. the present facilities are being expanded and an additional Linear Accelerator is planned to be installed.

Brachytherapy or use of radioactive source for implantation is expected to begin very shortly. This will complement the Linear Accelerator in giving high doses with minimal side effects.

Radiosurgery is also planned to start soon. It will work in close collaboration with the department of Neurosurgery for high dose stereotactic approach.
